Define goals, content and approvals before your website project. A practical KG-NET guide for businesses.
Start with one concrete task
A website brief helps reduce avoidable revisions. Start with what a visitor should accomplish: understand a service, request an appointment or select a product. Then describe your audience and the questions that must be answered before they contact you. A local service provider needs different content from a wholesaler selling many product variants. A list of visual effects cannot replace those decisions.
Prepare content and decisions
Collect current copy, images you have permission to use, contact information and existing technical access. Assign someone to approve changes and distinguish essential features from later additions. Decide what content should be retained, revised or written from scratch. For forms, agree recipients, required fields, retention and what happens after submission. This gives the delivery team requirements that can actually be checked.
Check success against useful criteria
Try the prototype on devices your customers use. Can people find the right service, understand the next step and receive a clear confirmation after sending an enquiry? Measure loading behavior, abandoned forms and qualified enquiries. Search positions and conversion rates cannot be inferred from a design alone. Agree a measurement period, data sources and responsibility for subsequent improvements.
